Believing the Unseen

Winston recently shared this in Facebook and I found this very interesting and thought I might share it as well.
In a mother’s womb were two babies. One asked the other: “Do you believe in life after delivery?”The other replied, “Why, of course. There has to be something after delivery. Maybe we are here to prepare ourselves for what we will be later.”
“Nonsense” said the first. “There is no life after delivery. What kind of life would that be?”
The second said, “I don’t know, but there will be more light than here. Maybe we will walk with our legs and eat from our mouths. Maybe we will have other senses that we can’t understand now.”
The first replied, “That is absurd. Walking is impossible. And eating with our mouths? Ridiculous! The umbilical cord supplies nutrition and everything we need. But the umbilical cord is so short. Life after delivery is to be logically excluded.”
The second insisted, “Well I think there is something and maybe it’s different than it is here. Maybe we won’t need this physical cord anymore.”
The first replied, “Nonsense. And moreover if there is life, then why has no one has ever come back from there? Delivery is the end of life, and in the after-delivery there is nothing but darkness and silence and oblivion. It takes us nowhere.”
“Well, I don’t know,” said the second, “but certainly we will meet Mother and she will take care of us.”
The first replied “Mother? You actually believe in Mother? That’s laughable. If Mother exists then where is She now?”
The second said, “She is all around us. We are surrounded by her. We are of Her. It is in Her that we live. Without Her this world would not and could not exist.”
Said the first: “Well I don’t see Her, so it is only logical that She doesn't exist.”
To which the second replied, “Sometimes, when you’re in silence and you focus and listen, you can perceive Her presence, and you can hear Her loving voice, calling down from above.”

  1. At first I though this post was about abortion when Winston posted it until I read it to the very end. Definitely an eye opener to the eternal love of our spiritual father. The verse that comes to mind when I see this is "Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” (‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭31‬:‭6‬ NKJV)." Sometimes we forget who is in control of our life and tend to lose hope and that's when the one who says "I AM" takes care of the situation and regains our trust. God is always there no matter where we are. He knows us by our name (I think that's the coolest thing ever!), knows our birthday (EVEN COOLER), and even knows when we are sad (definitely tops the others). Great post jobin!

    P.S.
My best friend walks on water! ;)

  2. Whoa *mind blown*. I love that, Two things came to mind as i read that. First, sometimes it's hard to imagine a life after death. Of course i believe in a Heaven and a Hell but at times its seems so crazy. To be living in a world with no fear or doubt and pain oooor a world with all the worse things you can imagine. To me eternity sounds awesome and crazy and just something my human mind can't wrap its self around. Second thing it makes me think about is how hard it is to tell a non believer about such a God and a eternity with Him. To them it sounds crazy to think about a life after this world. But talking about the word to a nonbeliever gets easier as you get closer to God cause you have a lot more to say about his Greatness as you experience it more! :)

  3. Woah that's pretty cool. I like how the situation completely turned tables. To be honest, this post kind of made be a bit more conscious of what is possible through Christ. Just like our mother, who was all around us during when we were in the womb, Christ is around us at all times even when at times we think he is not. Maybe sometimes we forget this. I'm definitely gonna share this with my mom this mothers day ;))

  4. I agree with you guys.... I read this like three times throughout the week, each time it was inspiring. I like how just like the baby who doubted, we sometimes doubt the life after. That brings me to another thought I had, that once the baby gets out of the womb, his life starts in this world, but once we get out of earth, our life starts in heaven. Just like how the baby did not know how things were gonna work in the world, we don't know all the details of the heavenly life but just like how one of the twins knew the mothers presence all around him, we should take a moment to realize the presence of God around us. Very nice illustration. Loved it. thanks Jobin for sharing it!.

  5. Ay its Jerome. I like this story a lot cuz it explains life after our worldly life. When I ask atheists why they believe what they believe they really have no answer. Nice post.

  6. Wow, I have to agree with Joel, this was a great and eye-opening story. This story was a great representation and a showing us about not taking our moms for granted. Thanks for the great post Jobin! Happy Mother's Day!
