Life of a Christian

Hey guys and gals, I found these two videos by Francis Chan about the life of a Christian. The first video talks about the typical life that the majority of Christians live. As Christians we always want to live in that comfort zone but God did not call us to be stuck in that zone. The second video talks about life after death. How we live on earth determines where we will spend ETERNITY.

  1. Great videos with such great messages! I know personally for me I struggle with being an extraordinary Christian and standing out for God because I'm afraid of what others might say. Sometimes we need that extra push. Thinking about eternity which is determined by what I do on this earth motivates me to do more for His kingdom! Jesus says that those who honor me before the world will be honored before my father so let's put in all our effort to show the world the love of our savior and His wonderful works!

  2. The second one reminds of buddhist and hindu doctrines. I think they believe in having a second chance. Having a new life in another form. That doesnt make sense to me at all. I think that us being Christians should strive for perfection just looking at Jesus. When we do that all other things come into place.

  3. I love how his demonstration in that second video. With the little time we have here we could do such great things for the Lord but the main reason we don't is because we are afraid. Its so comfortable to stay were we are, in our cozy little homes and churches surrounded by the people we know, but what about the people we don't know, the people that Jesus wants to know. It's out duty to go and tell them. And make this little time we have actually worth something. And this is really easy for me to just say but actually doing it is something else. But the best thing to do is pray about it and take it step by step and when you see an opportunity don't let your fear get in the way take a chance and your doing it for the Lord which is what our life is all about.

  4. I think eternal life is one of the things that makes Christianity stands out. John 3:16 says: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. It is just crazy how everything we do, say and think in this world affects our eternal life.

  5. The second video demo is very powerful, it puts things into perspective. What we see as many years of life is just a small measure to what eternity looks like and yet we toil and stress and worry about the small amount of time on earth and often do not even think of the endless time spent in eternity. Maybe we do not think so much of eternity because it is not the now and so we do not put much importance to it. As sherlin said, should we not be concerned that not only do we not realize eternity but what about the people out there who do not know where their eternity will be spent? I suppose the way we live today shows on which part of our timeline (earthly or life in eternity), we give more importance to. This is a good reality check.

  6. The first video was a very good representation of a normal Christian's life. I have been guilty of sometimes living my life like this. But putting faith into God can help ease your burden or struggles because he have to trust in him that he will always be there for you. The second video was a real reality check that we should not take lightly. Some Christians live there life thinking more about there earthly lives and worldly goals, but not thinking about eternity and how we will be with God. Both these videos were very good examples of how we should not worry about being afraid and thinking about only now but we should also think about our future with God.

  7. The videos were very moving for me personally. Although we may stress over these worldly matters God had only put them in front of us because he knows we can overcome them. I feel that we sometimes tend to fall under these routines and we forget to give God time and listen for his guidelines to help us. Also, that we live such short lives on this earth compared to those in the bible. We are hear for a purpose that many of us might not know exists yet but when God thinks its time he will let us know. And once we complete our purpose no matter how old we are he will call us home. So we shouldn't worry because God is in control and we just have to follow his commands and make the right choices that can determine our life after death.
